Founded in 2021 in Dallas. Built on a lifelong passion for boxing, storytelling, and honest discussion. Today, it's more than a podcast. It's a platform built for the Bucketheads who live and breathe the sport, the culture, and the conversations that come with it.
The Spit Bucket was founded in 2021 by JJ Salomon and Karray Bradshaw in Dallas with a simple goal: create authentic boxing conversations for real fight fans.
Built from a lifelong passion for boxing, storytelling, and honest discussion, The Spit Bucket quickly developed into more than just a podcast. It became a platform focused on the culture of the sport, the personalities behind it, and the stories that connect fighters and fans alike.
TSB has covered major fight weeks across the country, interviewing world champions, trainers, rising prospects, and respected voices throughout boxing. The platform has featured appearances and interactions with names such as Claressa Shields, Bernard Hopkins, and even a TMZ appearance alongside pound-for-pound star Shakur Stevenson.
One of the brand's earliest landmark moments came during the Errol Spence Jr. vs. Yordenis Ugás fight week in April 2022, when The Spit Bucket hosted boxing's first NFT event. NFT holders received exclusive access to two of the largest suites inside AT&T Stadium for fight night. It was a unique fan experience that blended boxing culture, community, and emerging technology.
In October 2025, JJ officially continued The Spit Bucket as a solo platform while expanding the vision beyond boxing coverage alone. Fight analysis, debates, interviews, and live event coverage remain at the heart of TSB. But the platform now also explores fatherhood, marriage, discipline, mindset, mental health, and personal growth.
Outside of content creation, The Spit Bucket is committed to giving back locally through the Toy Bucket Toy Drive. It's a Christmas initiative across the Dallas–Fort Worth area that partners with local boxing gyms and Toys for Tots to help provide gifts for children and families during the holiday season.
Above everything else, The Spit Bucket is rooted in family and community.
JJ is married to Amanda and is the proud father of his son JT and daughters Joey Alaina and Juliana Astelle. Their 14-year age gap serves as a daily reminder of the different seasons of life, growth, and fatherhood that continue to shape the conversations heard on the platform today.
Whether it's breaking down a title fight, interviewing fighters, discussing life lessons outside the ring, or building community through shared experiences, The Spit Bucket has always been about keeping conversations real for the Bucketheads who show up every week.
